The announcement displayed in FRONTEND of the website appear only once a day in front of user. That user will not be annoyed by your announcement for a day or as long as user does not clear its browser cache.
The pop-up window of the announcement has a close button at top right. Also, when user is clicking anywhere outside of the pop-up window, this announcement will close.
Each announcement can have a button at the bottom of the page with a link to a specific page.
You can set a date interval when the announcement to appear.
To edit an existing announcement you must be in Announcements list page. Click Announcements option from Add-ons section in left side menu. Choose the announcement you want to edit from the announcements listing and click the blue edit icon button (last icon on announcement line).
The Edit announcement window will open.
If you create a new announcement, the Edit announcement window will open automatically after the announcement is created. (See Create new announcement)
All field in this area are automatically saved once you leave the field, except the text editor which require save from the green SAVE button at the bottom left of the editor.
The saved fields will turn light green background.
Any error in saving a field will be marked by a light red background. Check the content of that field (red field) and alter it if necessary.
Edit alert will be changed with Edit announcement.
The window name is an informative field. It will tell you where you are. In this case is the Edit announcement and follow the id no. of the current announcement.
The Name field is referring to the name of your announcement. It is a mandatory field.
You can alter the name at any time.
This name is to help you quickly identify the announcement into listing. It is be used in search.
It will not be shown in FRONTEND.
The Area field is a drop-down list from which you have to choose the area where the current announcement is displayed in FRONTEND.
At this moment it is only one area available: Centered page popup. Choose the Centered page popup. More areas will be soon available.
The announcement can have an title which will appear in FRONTEND at the top of the announcement.
The title is an optional field. If the field is empty, the announcement will be displayed without title in FRONTEND.
Each announcement can have assigned a button to allow user to navigate to a specific page. This button can be customized to fit your specific needs.
The Bottom button text field is the place where you can enter the text you need for this button.
The Bottom button text field is optional.
In case you leave this field empty, the button will not be displayed on current announcement. No link will be assigned to the announcement either (see below).
This button will appear in FRONTEND at the bottom left of the announcement window.
In case you use the button on the bottom of your announcement (see above), you must input the URL for the button in Bottom button link field.
In case you do not input the text for Bottom button text field, the button will not be displayed in announcement window (FRONEND)(see above). If the button does not exist, the link here will not be visible in FRONEND announcement.
In Interval field you can set a date interval between which the current announcement will appear. Within interval set the announcement will be displayed. When the date is outside of interval set, the announcement will not be displayed anymore.
This option allows you to plan in future your announcements. You set it in advance and when the From date become the current date, the announcement will be displayed in FRONEND. Accordingly, after the To date, the announcement will be stopped.
These fields are optional.
You can set the From date and To date fields independently.
If only From date field is set, the announcement will start with date set and will be running indefinitely.
If only the To date field is set, the announcement will start from this moment up to date set.
If none of the From date and To date fields is set, the announcement will show from now and will run indefinitely or up to the point you stop it manually: disable or delete it.
The Show order field is to order your announcement based on this field.
If you have created more than one announcements, only one (the fist) announcement will be displayed. If you complete the Show order field, the first announcement will be the announcement with the smaller show number. In case you ignore the Show order field, the first record in list is not controlled by you.
It is recommended to input the Show order. Not mandatory though.
At this point, make sure only one announcement is enabled.
The Enabled field refers to the status of current announcement. Its effect is instant.
Only enabled announcement is displayed in FRONTEND. If the announcement is disabled it will be ignored till is made enabled.
You can make disable an announcement for different reasons like: not finalized setting the announcement, keep the announcement for a future day without setting the Interval: From date, stop the announcement for the moment without losing any of its details.
To enable an announcement, just choose the YES radio button.
To disable the announcement, choose the NO radio button.
Alert content will be changed with Announcement content.
The Announcement content is a full html text editor where you can design your announcement in the way you want:
- You can upload a banner within the text editor
- You can create a link to banner, when user click on banner itself it will be taken to the liked page
- You can use just formatted text
- You can use formatted text together with an image
Whatever you choose for your announcement, keep it simple and within a screen. Do not make your users to scroll the announcement window.
The announcement is not a landing page. It is just an advert which can be linked to a landing page.
After you create your announcement within the text editor, click the green SAVE button under the text editor. This save button will force to save instantly the entire work done within text editor and you can now close the window.
Delete button will delete the current announcement without asking you to confirm. The announcement will disappear. Just create a new one from scratch to replace the deleted one.
The red Delete button is placed at the bottom of Edit announcement window.
Close button will close the Edit announcement window and you will be landing on Announcements list.
You can close this window at any time as all data is already saved for you in the moment you leave a field. Exception from this rule is only for text editor. Click the save green button to make sure the entire content of text editor is saved.
You have two close buttons, use the one convenient for you:
- one is on top right corner of the Edit announcement window on same line with the window name
- one blue Close button on bottom right corner
To create a new announcement you must be in Announcements list page. Click Announcements option from Add-ons section in left side menu. Click the blue Create new announcement button on top right corner of Announcement list.
A New announcement window will open asking you to enter a name for the announcement. This name is used for administration propose only. It will not be shown in FRONTEND. Use as a name a short description for your announcement. This name will be searchable in Announcement list.
If you fail to add a name for your announcement, an error massage will be displayed, telling you to complete the Name of your announcement.
After you write the name of the announcement click the blue OK button at the bottom right to create the new announcement.
If you change your mind and want to abandon the creation of the new announcement, close the New announcement window from close button in top right or from Cancel button from bottom.
After you click the OK button to create the new announcement, the New announcement window will be replaced by the Edit announcement (Edit alert) window. Now continue with editing your new created announcement as presented above (see Edit announcement).
